 In Extended Day Programs, News

The team behind Mission Graduates’ newest Extended Day Program has those excited first-day-of-school jitters today.  The Alvarado Extended Day Program kicks off a year of academics, enrichment, and community building today!

Program Director Erich K. Wieland is new to the team at MG – but after a summer of collaboration, he already feels a part of the family.  With an extensive career in experiential learning and afterschool program development, he is bringing so great new ideas to this new school site.

And Assistant Director Christina Lopez may be a familiar face to some.  Working as the 2nd grade afterschool teacher at Marshall Elementary for the past four years, she has created not only strong academic outcomes for her young readers but also a fantastic STEM program that focuses on young girls finding their love of science.  We’ve seen her in action, developing experiments and inviting parents to join in on the fun – and we’re so excited to see her shape this new enrichment program for Alvarado.

The new school year is already filled with exciting units and enrichment partnerships, including Blue Bear Music, Young Rembrandts, America SCORES, and ABADA Capoeira.

Welcome to the MG familia Alvarado Elementary!
