Make a lasting impact on future college graduates!
Extended Day Program
Ensure students receive the individual support they need to succeed. Volunteers help students with their class work, participate in our themed-lessons and academic enrichment activities and support our Classroom Coordinators with daily lesson plans.
Mission Community Beacon
Give our students individual attention to help them succeed. Volunteers help students with their class work during study halls, participate in academic enrichment activities and support our Classroom Coordinators with daily program plans in the kitchen, on the yard, or in the lab.
College Access with College Connect and John O’Connell
Work with high school students as they write their college application and scholarship essays throughout their senior year. Recruitment for Writing Partners begins in April each year. This is a 1-year committment.
Work one-on-one with high school seniors as they work with a series of modules designed to help them succeed with college-level math. Recruitment begins in August each year. This a 9-month commitment.
Meet weekly with a college student as they develop resumes, cover letters, and interview skills. Recruitment begins in June. This is a 3-month commitment.
College Research Coaches
Help first-generation college students research public and private universities that will meet their needs, and get organized together for fall applications. Recruitment begins in May. This is a 3-month commitment.
Work through high school and college-level classes with our students, helping students complete assignments, prepare for exams, and better understand coursework. This is an ongoing opportunity.
Parent Partner Program
Latina Tech Mentors
Support our parent leaders as they learn new technology skills to support their work with Mission Graduates as well as support their own students’ education goals. Recruitment begins in August. This a 1-year commitment.
ESL and Language Exchange
Join our weekly ESL courses for parents, or partner one-one-one with a parent hoping to improve their English communication skills. Recruitment begins in August. This is a 1-year commitment.
Development Task Force: Work with team members to plan and implement fundraisers, find new donation sources, and coach board and staff members on Mission Graduates’ development plan.
Communications Task Force: Join this group of communications professionals to develop and implement branding, communications and marketing strategy for Mission Graduates.
As a nonprofit, we are always looking to expand our reach so that we can increase our impact. If you have a particular skill that you think could help our program, or want to get involved in one of our programs, let us know. Typical internships include: program implementation, marketing, social media marketing, evaluation, and assessment.
