Jackeline is a member of College Connect’s 6th cohort of high school students on their way to college. Attending John O’Connell High School, Jackeline found out about the program after hearing a talk at school.
“I decided to apply to Mission Graduates because they were offering a lot of help and support to students and I felt that I wasn’t going to find this kind of support anywhere else. With the help of my teachers and counselors I was able to complete my application and got accepted into the program.”
Immigrating to San Francisco only eight years ago, Jackeline is overcoming the difficulties of starting over in a new place through her involvement with College Connect. Field trips to college campuses became a great time to bond with her cohort and together they are getting ready to begin the application process. She says that the friendships she has made have made College Connect like a “second family” to her.
She is definitely a part of the Mission Graduates family now!
