Elizabeth Urrutia was first introduced to College Connect by her teacher. She was born in San Francisco to Central America parents and will be the first in her family to attend college. Family motivates her to go to continue working towards her college dreams. “I want to go to college because I want to get a higher education than my parents and because I want to give a good example to my niece.”
Elizabeth came to College Connect looking for a bit of extra help with the college application process. Now a rising senior, she began working on her personal statement this summer. “Right now, the theme for my personal statement is going to focus on the economic struggles of my family. I really like how Mission Graduates has provided me with a writing coach to help me write my personal statement. It has truly helped me a lot!”
