 In College Connect, News

Dayra was born in Durango, Mexico and was raised in San Francisco. She has a set vision of what she aspires for the future. She wants to double major in Psychology and the Arts for a profession in art therapy. Overcoming personal challenges, she understands the importance of having a strong support system. “With my career as an art therapist, I will be able to give back to the underserved populations in the U.S that struggle every day to sustain a family, and who don’t have any access to psychologists or therapists.”

Seeking extra help to achieve her goals and an organization that offers workshops for parents, Dayra applied to College Connect. She is grateful for all of the support received through the program. “The best part about College Connect thus far has been meeting all sorts of amazing people who are there to help you along the difficult steps of your life.”

Dayra’s next step is to prepare herself for college and achieve her future goals. We can’t wait to see her inspire and through the arts, bring change to the community.
