Sergio HerreraYOUTH DIRECTOR, MEMBER-AT-LARGE

    Sergio Herrera is a rising senior at San Jose State University and majors in Political Science with a minor in Business. He was born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District by immigrant parents and is a first-generation college student. He has aspirations to go to law school after earning his Bachelor’s degree, as well as serving in public office. He has been part of programs for first-generation college students since the 7th grade and knows first-hand how important programs like Mission Graduates are for San Francisco youth. Helping first-gen students is something that he is passionate about and plans to do for the rest of his career. Everyone has the right to college, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

    Prior to joining the board of directors of Mission Graduates, he interned for the former District Attorney of San Francisco Chesa Boudin, Assemblymember David Chiu. Currently,  he interns for the Emerson Collective where he focuses on youth and community engagement.
