What is MG Academy?

MG Academy is a virtual program designed to supplement community learning hubs and enhance learning at home. It consists of fun and enriching activities led by our talented Mission Graduates instructors. 

We offer a variety of classes that are sure to keep your scholar engaged:

  • Want your child to learn to speak Spanish? Sign up for a One-on-One Spanish Language Tutoring
  • Do you want your student to continue practicing their Spanish skills? Select our Fairy Tale Art or STEMtastic Engineers classes – taught entirely in Spanish.  
  • Many more offerings will be added soon!

Whichever classes you select for your student, they’re guaranteed to have fun!

Fire breathing dragons, frog princes, and magical crowns – oh my! Jump into a world of fairy tale creatures and take a little bit of the magic home with you.

Ahoy, Matey! Become a swashbucklin’ sea voyager and animal explorer as we travel the seven seas, looking below and above the surface. Learn about historic sea navigation and the animals that sailors would encounter along the way.

Calling all superheroes! In this two-week course, we’ll learn about the most famous heroes, their origin stories, and their powers that make them so… well, super! Play some epic games, make daring arts and crafts, and create your own gallant superhero gear to complete your own hero persona!

Rainforest Roamers

Did you know that there are more animals in the rainforest than any other part of the world? In this two-week course, we’ll become experts on the colorful creatures of the rainforest and create art that captures the essence of amazing animals, bugs, and more!

Believe It or Not (Cryptozoology)

Suggested Grade Level: 3rd – 5th

Is Bigfoot real? Did someone just make up unicorns? Is the Loch Ness monster real, a myth, a hoax, or a misidentified animal? Our world’s a big place – so big that we’re constantly discovering new animals deep in oceans or high in the mountains. In this class, we’ll learn about some of the most mysterious creatures from stories and folklore.

Yoga

Yoga is a restorative activity that brings tranquility to our minds and bodies, alleviates stress, and stretches our muscles. In these 30 minutes classes, we’ll slowly master mindfulness and recapture the peace of mind you need – we mean your student needs – for the day.

Need some support in reading, writing, or math? Perhaps you want to freshen up on some of your skills for extra practice? Join our-one on-one tutoring sessions, with tailored activities and lessons for your child’s needs.

One-on-One Spanish Language Tutoring

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:00 – 9:30 AM

Build your student’s confidence and enhance their Spanish language skills with individualized tutoring. Customize your student’s vocabulary practice and grammar lessons, or find a conversation partner with one of our instructors.
