You Are an Example to Me AWARDS!

Please join us for a special evening as Mission Graduates presents its 3rd annual “You Are an Example to Me” awards celebration!

YAEM

The “You Are an Example to Me” awards honors individuals who set strong examples and contribute to the success of children and youth from the Mission District. We will be recognizing special youth, parents, business owners, and Mission Graduates community partners.

When: Tuesday, April 20th 6-8:00pm
Where: Vanguard Properties (2501 Mission Street @21st Street)

Parent Summit Training and Updates

Taking into consideration the critical juncture in which a great deal of schools, their English Learners Advisory Committees (ELAC) and School Site Councils (SSC) find themselves (due to the incumbent budget-cuts across the State, and primarily in SFUSD), the Parent Partner Program brought together the Parent Summit Steering Committee for a special session devoted to structuring discussions and organizing opinions about this extremely critical topic.  Read more »

An Interview with Pilar Tuz..

For weeks on end, parents expected that today would be quite hectic, but productive, for many of them at Marshall E.S. For twenty two parents, to be exact. Under heavy rains, and just as diligently as it happens on any other day, parents dropped their children at 8:40 a.m. to start school. Heavy coats, umbrellas, rain-boots, gloves, and scarves are a part of the wet, wet scene. As they were coming in, the rain swayed like no other day, propelled by the wind, and it sometimes dropped thinly, while at moments it looked like it was capable of pelting anything on its path against the ground.

Computer Literacy Classes Begin!!

Today is the first day of Computer Literacy classes at Marshall E.S. Below is a picture of the parents who will be receiving classes for 12 weeks. As you may  know, this is a huge accomplishment for the ELAC at Marshall E.S., the School Site Council, Mission Graduates, CAMINOS, and the PTA.
