Alejandro PeñaProgram Director - Bessie Carmichael School

Hello, my name is Alejandro Peña. I was born and raised in Mexico in a very small farming town and migrated to the US at the age of 17. I am the eleventh out of twelve kids and the only one with a formal education. I received my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from California State University, Hayward (now East Bay). I received my Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from International Technological University. My entire professional career has been in education from middle school, college, and post-graduate education holding positions of Counselor, recruiter, Director, and Assistant Vice President. I am happily married and have two boys, 4 and 6, who keep me young and active. I love working in education and with the community and that is why I joined the MG family. In my free time, I love running and raising awareness for cancer and autism. I love soccer and played it in college and at a semi-professional level. I love woodworking and making crafts, gardening, walks, watching sports, and reading a good book, or watching a documentary.
