Ryan Helton came to Mission Graduates with over a decade of experience working in non-profit development, and nearly two decades in the non-profit education sector. Ryan’s past experiences in development at Redwood Day School, Park Day School, and BELL – Building Educated Leaders for Life, have prepared him to helm fundraising efforts at Mission Graduates. With a background in grant writing, major gifts, direct mail, and corporate partnerships, Ryan has a cadre of skills suited for Mission Graduates’ unique mix of supporters.
Originally from Ohio, Ryan earned his BA in Communications from the University of Charleston in West Virginia, and his MA as a Leadership Specialist for non-profit/government agencies from Marshall University, also in West Virginia. Ryan is active in many community groups, and believes that true change comes from community solidarity. Passionate about LGBT causes, Ryan is a regular presenter at Bay Area elementary and middle schools discussing what it’s like to grow up LGBT outside of our “Bay Area Bubble”. An ardent admirer of ancient history, he currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the American Research Center in Egypt, Northern California.
