Bryant Elementary Extended Day Program
Paloma Lopez has worked in the non-profit sector serving youth in the Mission District for the last three years. Starting off as a one-on-one tutor and later a classroom leader for the Jamestown Community Center, Paloma demonstrated a talent and passion for working with school-age youth that earned her the opportunity to assist in creating and developing Mission Graduates’ second Tutoring Center at Bryant Elementary in 2010.
As the Assistant Program Director for the Bryant Extended Day Program, Paloma held a dual role as supervisor and classroom coordinator. Paloma recently transitioned from direct service in the classroom to her new leadership role as Program Director for Bryant.
Raised in a low-income, single-parent home, Paloma understands first-hand the challenging life circumstances that the youth we serve are faced with every day. Her passport to a better life was a college education. Her personal values are directly aligned with the organization’s mission, and it is that personal connection and awareness of her students’ potential that fuels her commitment to her work.
Paloma received a B.A. in Psychology at the University of San Francisco.
